PETALING JAYA: The public will not be able to pay their income tax with credit cards for now as the Finance Ministry has rejected the proposal to allow such a move. No paying tax with credit card

The normal student who attends community colleges usually has their own apartment and a job. The job that they now have may not be the one that they are in training for instead it is possible a part time job to tide them over until after they graduate. The community college student will graduate in about a period of two years instead of the four or more year program offered by universities. Most of these students who are fresh out of high school may still live at home but a majority have their own apartment, maybe married or have a live in mate. There are normally two incomes coming into the household which makes it much easier to pay back a loan on a credit card.

Community College students usually have grants that help pays for their tuition and books but do not get any sort of extra spending money which makes it difficult at times. That is why a credit card for this type of student is very important and lending institutions recognize this factor that is why they are willing to give out good rates on interest for the student.

The student should make sure that the interest rate does not increase before they graduate and that no yearly fee is imposed on them before they graduate.

Many times lending institutions offer perks that help these students while they are attending college. One of the perks that most students like is being able to use points in the school book store to buy supplies. Even though text books might be covered by a grant normally things like paper, computer DVD's, pens etc. are not. These items can add up so a student credit card with this type of perk is very good. Question by Gianna C: credit cards for college students? Which credit cards companies would allow a college student with no money or income to get a credit card? Best answer for credit cards for college students?:

Answer by CandaceShelle
I am not sure what company would give you any sort of unsecured credit card without income unless you had a co-signer but I was able to get a Capital One card with no credit and a part time job that paid like 6 an hour. Good luck.

Answer by R T
No income and no assets = no card. How would you pay the card when due? The bank would wonder, too . . . .

Answer by Quizzle
HI @Gianna! New credit card rules went into effect in February, making it extremely difficult for people under 21 to get a credit card. Now, to qualify, you need either a cosigner OR sufficient ability to pay your debt (i.e. income). If you're able to get a cosigner (maybe your parents?), there are several credit card options designed just for college students. In fact, we recently did a review of the top credit cards for students. Here's what we found: +Citi Forward Card for College Students: Rewards responsible use of credit with a lower interest rate. Also offers a rewards program. +Citi Dividend Platinum Select Visa Card: Good for students who spend a lot. You'll get cash back on certain purchases. +Discover Student More Card: Also good for heavy spenders. Offers cash back on certain purchases and comes with design options. +Orchard Bank Classic MasterCards: Customized card based on your credit history. Interest rate is high and annual fee is based on your credit score, but this is an option for those who can't qualify for a card anywhere else. +Capital One Student Rewards Card: Great cash back rewards and no annual fee, but a higher interest rate. For more details about these cards, check out the link below. Keep in mind that you'll likely have to start with a card with a higher interest rate and fees. But in time, as you demonstrate responsible use of credit, new, better options will open up to you. Good luck!
